Dr Karisiddappa addressed 4000 educators across India

DIGITAL INTERVENTION IS AN ADDITIONAL COMPONENT AND NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR CLASSROOMS  

 Pragativahini News, Belagavi – Dr Karisiddappa, the Vice Chancellor of Visvesvaraya Technological Univeristy addressed 4000 educators from the Higher Education across the Country through an online webinar “SkyCampus” organized by ICT Academy.

On his address he stated the following: As an educator, we need to precisely understand our role. Digital intervention is just a tool or an additional component and not a substitute for classrooms. We need to bring in universal human values, re-design the curriculum’s by bringing courses on newer technologies. By rise of digital interventions, the role of educators has actually been increased, contradicting the general belief that the educator role has been minimized.

At the end, an educator cannot teach all but make the students learn what is relevant. Referring to the concept of “VUCA” which was broadly discussed in the season 2 of skycampus, Dr Karisiddappa re-defined the term as Virtual Universal Comprehensive Assistance which he refers the digital tools. He concluded stating that a blended learning model and meaningful participation of educators will provide solution for a sustainable learning environment irrespective of any disruptions.

ICT Academy through its SkyCampus platform is organizing this digital knowledge series with an objective of providing industry expert sessions on various topics relevant to the context of today and future. The Season 2 of Digital Knowledge Series was on the theme ‘Leading in a VUCA World’.

The other speakers of the season included Dr. Anil Sahasarabudhe Chairman AICTE, Mr Lakshmi Narayanan, Emeritus Vice Chairman Cognizant, Mr Sivakumar CEO ICT Academy , Dr. K K Aggarwal, Chairman NBA, Dr Manish Kumar MD & CEO of NSDC among various Industry Leaders. The Sessions are moderated by Dr B Anbuthambi, President, ICT Academy and have been witnessed by 5000 educators on every day morning 10 am to 11.30 am.
