Pragativahini News, Belagavi –National Legal Literacy Day was held in K.L.E. Society’s B. V. Bellad Law College on Tuesday, 12th November 2019.
Chief Guest Vijay Devaraj Urs, Civil Judge Sr. Division & Member Secretary DLSA, Belagavi while addressing the gathering stressed on importance of various certificates in life for example birth and death certificates and the process to issue them.
Similarly the Chief Guest addressed about the role of Legal Service Authority in providing free legal aid to the needy citizens along with the expert advice by advocates. He further called upon students to spread the awareness regarding the benefits of Lok -Adalats amongst people.
The President of the function Dr. B. Jayasimha Principal B. V. Bellad Law College while addressing the gathering said that the concept of the word literate has undergone sea change so as to convey not just learned but also to unlearn the things not needed to the society and the real literate society would be one where social economic and political justice is provided to all.
He further called upon students to develop the quality of questioning.
The function began with an invocation song by Nishra and group. Asst prof M.S. Allappanavar welcomed and introduced the guest. Veeresh Malimath, II LL.B. General Secretary Legal Aid Committee proposed the vote of thanks. Rubeena Nadaf, II LL.B. compared. All the students, Teaching and Non teaching staff members of K.L.E. Society’s B. V. Bellad Law College and College of Education were present on the occasion.
