ಪ್ರಗತಿವಾಹಿನಿ ಸುದ್ದಿ: “ಸಚಿವ ಸಂಪುಟದ ವಿಸ್ತರಣೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ದೆಹಲಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪಕ್ಷದ ವರಿಷ್ಠರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಚರ್ಚೆ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಎಐಸಿಸಿ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಮಲ್ಲಿಕಾರ್ಜುನ ಖರ್ಗೆ ಅವರ ಭೇಟಿ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗದ ಕಾರಣ, ಅವರನ್ನು ಶನಿವಾರ ಭೇಟಿ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುವುದು. ವರಿಷ್ಠರಿಂದ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ಪಡೆದು ಸಚಿವ ಸಂಪುಟ ವಿಸ್ತರಣೆಗೆ ಸಿದ್ಧತೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುವುದು” ಎಂದು ಸಿಎಂ ಡಿ ಕೆ ಶಿವಕುಮಾರ್ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ನವದೆಹಲಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಹಳೇ ಕಚೇರಿ ಬಳಿ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಗಳಿಗೆ ಶಿವಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರು ಶುಕ್ರವಾರ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಮಾರ್ಚ್ ಅಂತ್ಯದೊಳಗೆ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಚುನಾವಣೆ
“ಮತದಾರರ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯ ಸಮಗ್ರ ಪರಿಷ್ಕರಣೆಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ಜಿಬಿಎ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯ ಐದು ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಚುನಾವಣೆ ನಡೆಸಲು ಡಿಸೆಂಬರ್ 31 ರವರೆಗೆ ಕಾಲಾವಕಾಶವನ್ನು ಕೋರಿ ಸುಪ್ರೀಂ ಕೋರ್ಟ್ ಗೆ ಅರ್ಜಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಇಂದು ಸುಪ್ರೀಂ ಕೋರ್ಟ್ ಕಾಲಾವಕಾಶವನ್ನು ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸಿದೆ. ಜಿಬಿಎ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲದೇ ಮಾರ್ಚ್ ಅಂತ್ಯದೊಳಗೆ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ, ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕು ಹಾಗೂ ಗ್ರಾಮ ಪಂಚಾಯಿತಿ, ಮುನಿಸಿಪಾಲಿಟಿ ಚುನಾವಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಲಾಗುವುದು” ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಚುನಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯುವಕರಿಗೆ ಅವಕಾಶ
“ಗ್ರಾಮ ಪಂಚಾಯಿತಿಯಿಂದ ಕಾರ್ಪೊರೇಷನ್ ವರೆಗೆ ಈ ಬಾರಿಯ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯುವಕರಿಗೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಹೊಸ ಮುಖಗಳಿಗೆ ಅವಕಾಶ ನೀಡಲಾಗುವುದು. ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸಲು ಮತ್ತು ಅಧಿಕಾರ ವಿಕೇಂದ್ರೀಕರಣವನ್ನು ತರಲು ಸಂವಿಧಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಲಾದ 73 ನೇ ಮತ್ತು 74 ನೇ ತಿದ್ದುಪಡಿಯನ್ನು ಅನುಷ್ಠಾನಕ್ಕೆ ತರಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದರು.
ಎಐಸಿಸಿ ಕಚೇರಿ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವಾಲಯ
“ಎಐಸಿಸಿ ಕಚೇರಿ ನಮಗೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತರಿಗೆ ದೇವಾಲಯವಿದ್ದಂತೆ. ನಾವು ಅದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬೆಳೆದಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಯನ್ನು ದೇವಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಭೇಟಿಯಾಗುವುದು ನಮ್ಮ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ” ಎಂದರು.
Cabinet expansion to be decided after consultations with party high command: Chief Minister
Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar said discussions have been held with the Congress high command in New Delhi regarding the expansion of the State Cabinet. As AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge was unavailable today, the Chief Minister said he would meet him tomorrow and proceed with the necessary preparations after receiving guidance from the party leadership.
He was speaking to the media after meeting AICC General Secretary in New Delhi, today.
Local body elections by March-end
Responding to a question regarding the elections for the five Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) municipal corporations, the Chief Minister said that the Supreme Court was approached seeking time until December 31 to conduct the polls due to the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls. The Supreme Court has granted the extension.
He added that, besides the GBA elections, polls to district, taluk, gram panchayat and municipal local bodies are expected to be completed by the end of March.
Oppurtunities for youth and new faces
The Chief Minister said the Congress would provide opportunities for youth and new faces in the forthcoming local body elections, from Gram Panchayats to municipal corporations.
He added that the government is committed to implementing the spirit of the 73rd and 74th Constitutional Amendments to strengthen local self-governance and deepen decentralisation of power.
AICC office is our temple
Describing the AICC office as a place of great significance for Congress workers, Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar said, “The AICC office is like a temple for us. We have grown up in the party, and it is our duty to meet our party leaders there.”
Responding to questions on the BJP and JD(S) protest at Freedom Park over the proposed Bidadi Township project, the Chief Minister said he would address the issue separately.
