*Complaint against the Congress government submitted to the Governor, with a request that the government be directed to act: Opposition Leader R. Ashoka*

Pragativahini News: Opposition Leader R. Ashoka and BJP leaders have submitted a complaint to Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot, seeking action against the Congress government for allegedly harassing BJP and JD(S) workers in connection with the SIR process.

Speaking to reporters after visiting Raj Bhavan and submitting the complaint, he said police stations in the state have become Congress offices. BJP and JD(S) workers are being unnecessarily summoned and questioned. The Election Commission has clarified that anyone may submit Form 7, and that no one has been told to register cases. If a name is removed from the voter list, the voter can challenge it. Neither the police nor the government has any role to intervene. Yet the Congress government, through the police, is registering criminal cases against those who have submitted Form 7, he said.

Fear of elections has begun for the Congress. It is clear that the NDA will come to power next. That is why workers are being harassed. Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and B.K. Hariprasad are behaving like rowdies, just as they did in the past. But we are not afraid of this goondaism. The government should not target BJP workers, and the government should be dismissed — this has been requested of the Governor. The Governor has assured that he will call the DGP and the Chief Secretary and speak to them, he said.

Bus ticket fare hike

By raising bus ticket fares, a burden is being placed on the people. It is not right to burden the public in order to fund free guarantees. There is no other reason for this. First they call it free, and then they loot the people. An audio has surfaced in Kolar in which collections are being made from contractors right from the Deputy Commissioner’s office. We had insisted that the price of milk should not be increased. Congress had said in its manifesto that farmers would be given an incentive of ₹8. Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah made this promise and is now pleading, “Please look after my son.” The next budget is headed for a situation of borrowing ₹2 lakh crore. Only if Congress goes will the people get relief, he said.
