ಪ್ರಗತಿವಾಹಿನಿ ಸುದ್ದಿ: ಭಾರತ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಬ್ರಿಕ್ಸ್ನ 11 ಸದಸ್ಯ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಪ್ರಮಾಣೀಕರಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ(NSBS)ಗಳ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರ 5ನೇ ಶೃಂಗಸಭೆಗೆ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಇಂದು ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಯಿತು. ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಗ್ರಾಹಕ ವ್ಯವಹಾರಗಳ ಸಚಿವ ಪ್ರಲ್ಹಾದ ಜೋಶಿ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಸಭೆಗೆ ಚಾಲನೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿತು.
ʼಪ್ರಮಾಣೀಕರಣ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಬ್ರಿಕ್ಸ್ ಸಹಕಾರʼ ಕುರಿತು ಭಾರತದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಶೃಂಗಸಭೆ ಬ್ರಿಕ್ಸ್ ಒಪ್ಪಂದ ಅಂತಿಮಗೊಳಿಸಿ ಸಹಿ ಹಾಕುವಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾಮುಖ್ಯತೆ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಸಭೆಯನ್ನು ಸಚಿವ ಪ್ರಲ್ಹಾದ ಜೋಶಿ ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿದರು. ರಾಜ್ಯದ ರಾಜಧಾನಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ದಿನಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಜರುಗಲಿದೆ.
ಬ್ರಿಕ್ಸ್ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ʼಗುಣಮಟ್ಟ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಕಾರʼ 2022ರಲ್ಲೇ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಗಿದೆ. ಪ್ರಥಮವಾಗಿ ಚೀನಾದಲ್ಲಿ 2022ರಲ್ಲಿ NSB ಸಭೆ ನಡೆದಿತ್ತು. ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಆಫ್ರಿಕಾ-2023, ರಷ್ಯಾ-2024 ಮತ್ತು ಬ್ರೆಜಿಲ್-2025ರಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದಿದ್ದು, 2026ರಲ್ಲಿ ಇದೀಗ ಭಾರತ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ 5ನೇ ಸಭೆ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದೆ.
ಈ ಸಭೆ ಬ್ರಿಕ್ಸ್ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳ ʼರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಾನದಂಡ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಸಹಕಾರʼಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಔಪಚಾರಿಕ ಚೌಕಟ್ಟು ರೂಪಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹತ್ವ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಸದಸ್ಯ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಹಂಚಿಕೆ, ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಸಹಯೋಗ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ ವೃದ್ಧಿಯ ಧ್ಯೋತಕವಾಗಿದೆ.
ʼಬ್ರಿಕ್ಸ್ ಸದಸ್ಯ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮಾಣೀಕರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಕಾರ’ (Cooperation in Standardisation under the BRICS) ಕುರಿತ ಸಭೆಗೆ ಚಾಲನೆ ನೀಡಿದ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸಚಿವ ಪ್ರಲ್ಹಾದ ಜೋಶಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಬ್ರಿಕ್ಸ್ನ 11 ಸದಸ್ಯ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರು ಇಂದು ನಮ್ಮ ನಾಡಿನ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿರುವುದು ಸಂತಸದ ಸಂಗತಿ. ಬ್ರಿಕ್ಸ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸದಸ್ಯ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತ ಈ ಸಭೆಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಸಂತೋಷ ತಂದಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಬ್ರಿಕ್ಸ್ ಒಕ್ಕೂಟದ ಈ ಸಭೆ ಭಾರತ, ಬ್ರೆಜಿಲ್, ಚೀನಾ, ಈಜಿಪ್ಟ್, ಇಥಿಯೋಪಿಯಾ, ಇಂಡೋನೇಷ್ಯಾ, ಇರಾನ್, ರಷ್ಯಾ, ಸೌದಿ ಅರೇಬಿಯಾ, ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಆಫ್ರಿಕಾ ಮತ್ತು ಯುಎಇ (UAE) ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ 11 ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಉದಯೋನ್ಮುಖ ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಶೀಲ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಒಗ್ಗೂಡಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಜೋಶಿ ಪ್ರತಿಪಾದಿಸಿದರು.
ಬ್ರಿಕ್ಸ್ ಸದಸ್ಯ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಕಾರ ಬಲಪಡಿಸುವುದು ಈ ಸಭೆಯ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಉದ್ದೇಶವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ʼಬ್ಯೂರೋ ಆಫ್ ಇಂಡಿಯನ್ ಸ್ಟ್ಯಾಂಡರ್ಡ್ಸ್(BIS)’ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಸುಮಾರು 8 ದಶಕಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ರಾಜಿಯಾಗದೆ ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮುನ್ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಆರ್ಥಿಕತೆಗಷ್ಟೇ ಸೀಮಿತವಲ್ಲ ಬ್ರಿಕ್ಸ್:
ಬ್ರಿಕ್ಸ್, ವಿಶ್ವದ ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯ ಶೇ.49.5ರಷ್ಟು, ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಜಿಡಿಪಿಯ (GDP) ಶೇ.40 ಮತ್ತು ಜಾಗತಿಕ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರದ ಸರಿ ಸುಮಾರು ಶೇ.26ರಷ್ಟು ಪಾಲನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಬ್ರಿಕ್ಸ್ ಸಹಕಾರವು ಕೇವಲ ಆರ್ಥಿಕತೆಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಸೀಮಿತವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಸಚಿವ ಪ್ರಲ್ಹಾದ ಜೋಶಿ ಪ್ರತಿಪಾದಿಸಿದರು..
ಎಲ್ಲಾ 11 ಸದಸ್ಯ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭಯೋತ್ಪಾದನೆ ನಿಗ್ರಹ, ಹವಾಮಾನ ಬದಲಾವಣೆ, ಆಹಾರ ಮತ್ತು ಇಂಧನ ಭದ್ರತೆ, ಹಣಕಾಸು, ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ, ವಿಶ್ವ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ (WTO) ಸುಧಾರಣೆಗಳು, ಕೃಷಿ-ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕ ವಲಯ, ಡಿಜಿಟಲ್, ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನಗಳಂತಹ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳನ್ನೂ ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದು, ಇಂದಿನ ಸಭೆ ಇದನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಬಿಂಬಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದರು.
ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಜರುಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ಎರಡು ದಿನಗಳ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಐಎಸ್, “ಕೃತಕ ಬುದ್ಧಿಮತ್ತೆ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮಾಣೀಕರಣ” ಕುರಿತು ಭಾರತದ ಪಾತ್ರವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತಪಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ, ಹೊಣೆಗಾರಿಕೆ, ಅಪಾಯದ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತ, ನೈತಿಕ, ಪಾರದರ್ಶಕ, ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಕಾರ್ಯಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಾರ್ಹತೆ ವಿಷಯಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೇಂದ್ರೀಕರಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಬ್ರಿಕ್ಸ್ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ʼಪ್ರಮಾಣೀಕರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸಹಕಾರʼವು ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ-ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ವಲಯವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಸುಗಮಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸುವ ಜತೆಗೆ ಅಂತರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಾನದಂಡಗಳನ್ನು ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಜೋಡಿಸಲು ಅನುವು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಡುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದರು.
ವರ್ಷಾಂತ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ದೆಹಲಿಯಲ್ಲಿ 18ನೇ ಬ್ರಿಕ್ಸ್ ಶೃಂಗಸಭೆ:
ಬ್ರಿಕ್ಸ್ ಸಮಾನ ಮನಸ್ಕ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಬಲವಾದ ಒಕ್ಕೂಟವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಭಾರತ ಈ ಹಿಂದೆ 2012, 2016 ಮತ್ತು 2021ರಲ್ಲಿ ಬ್ರಿಕ್ಸ್ ಶೃಂಗಸಭೆಗಳನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಈ ವರ್ಷದ ಕೊನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತೆ ನವದೆಹಲಿಯಲ್ಲಿ 18ನೇ ಬ್ರಿಕ್ಸ್ ಶೃಂಗಸಭೆಯನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಿದೆ ಎಂದೂ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸಚಿವ ಪ್ರಲ್ಹಾದ ಜೋಶಿ ಇದೇ ವೇಳೆ ಘೋಷಿಸಿದರು.
BRICS goes beyond economics, says Union Minister Pralhad Joshi

Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Pralhad Joshi on Thursday inaugurated a two-day 5th Meeting of the Heads of National Standards Bodies (NSBs) of the 11 BRICS member nations, in Bengaluru .
Addressing the inaugural session, Joshi said it was a matter of pride that India was chairing the meeting with the participation of representatives from all BRICS member countries.
Welcoming the delegates to Bengaluru, the minister described the gathering as an important milestone in strengthening cooperation in standardisation. The BRICS grouping now comprises Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), bringing together 11 major emerging economies and developing nations.
Joshi said enhancing cooperation in standardisation among BRICS members was the primary objective of the summit. The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), India’s National Standards Body, has been maintaining quality standards without compromise for nearly eight decades and has played a vital role in promoting quality across industries.
BRICS Not Limited to Economic Cooperation
Emphasising the growing role of the bloc, hebsaid BRICS represents nearly 49.5 per cent of the world’s population, accounts for 40 per cent of global GDP, and contributes about 26 per cent of global trade. BRICS cooperation is not confined to the economy alone, he added.
According to the Minister, cooperation among member countries extends to counter-terrorism, climate change, food and energy security, finance, trade, World Trade Organization (WTO) reforms, agriculture, labour, digital technologies and innovation, reflecting the expanding scope of the grouping.
Delhi to host 18th summit
The Union Minister also announced that India will host the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi later this year. India had previously hosted BRICS summits in 2012, 2016 and 2021, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening the influential grouping of like-minded emerging economies.
Held under India’s presidency, the meeting focuses on “Cooperation in Standardisation under the BRICS” and is expected to play a significant role in finalising and signing a BRICS agreement on cooperation in the field of standardisation.
The summit brought together the heads of National Standards Bodies from all 11 BRICS member countries. The initiative on “Cooperation in Standardisation under the BRICS” began in 2022. The first NSB meeting was held in China in 2022, followed by South Africa in 2023, Russia in 2024 and Brazil in 2025. India is now hosting the fifth edition in Bengaluru.
The meeting is aimed at creating a formal framework for cooperation among the National Standards Bodies of BRICS countries. It seeks to strengthen information sharing, technical collaboration and capacity building among member nations.
During the two-day meeting, the BIS will present India’s work on standardisation in Artificial Intelligence (AI), highlighting the country’s approach to ensuring safe, ethical, transparent, interoperable and trustworthy AI systems, while addressing issues related to development, accountability and risk management.
Joshi said greater cooperation in standardisation among BRICS nations would facilitate smoother trade and commerce, strengthen global competitiveness and promote harmonisation of international standards.
