Development of Rajahmsagada fort as a tourist destination – MLA Lakshmi Hebbalkar

Pragativahini News, Belagavi: Planning to develop the Rajahmsagada Fort as a tourist destination, a historical site on the outskirts of Belagavi. 3.50 crore in the first phase has been released, Said Laxmi Hebbalkar, MLA.

Rajahmsagada is the most beautiful area but has been neglected till now. Despite all the opportunities to attract tourists, both domestic and foreign, as a tourist destination, it has lagged behind.  I have prepared and submitted the estimated cost proposal of Rs. 15 crores in the previous coalition government. 5 crore from the Department of Tourism in the first phase Sanctioned, Rs.3 crore has been released, Hebbalkar said.

The Department of Kannada and Culture had proposed to install Shivaji’s statue in Rajahmsagada. 50 lakhs for that has been released. This work has also begun. Shiva Charitre, Heritage Park will be established. The road will also be developed to facilitate tourists she added.
“It is my hope that this project will provide employment to the people of Sulaga, Yallur, Desur and Nandihalli areas,” Laxmi Hebbalkar said.

Shivaji Fort is located at Rajahansgad, a distance of 7 km from Belagavi city. The fort area at the highest point is glamorous. Regular tourists arrive despite no facilities. If the right plan is implemented, it can attract millions of visitors every year. The plan now under way will be a beautiful tourist destination in Belagavi.
