Except Sadashivnagar, Entire City to be Corona-free from May 17, If no Fresh Cases Traces Till Than

Prgativahini News, Belagavi : If no positives cases of COVID-19 found, entire Belagavi city, except Sadashivnagar, would be open for public movement from May 17. All those from Belagavi city tested positive were cured and discharged and those quarantined were also detected negative the city would be declared Corona-Free where people can move anywhere without restriction.

However, Sadashivnagar where a infected person traced on Thursday will be locked for 28 days. Entire locality has been declared Containment zone.

After COVID-19 broke out in the nation, the throat swab and blood samples of the suspected would be sent to laboratories at Bengaluru or Shivamogga and report used to get in about a week. After, the laboratory unit established at Central government ICMR, the test reports are getting new day of giving the sample.

The unit testing 180 samples in a day and issuing report next day, helping the medical staff to proceed with the treatment.

DC SB Bommanhalli said more sample would be sent if their were more first and second contact, the test reports are getting fast after the unit started here. The test report of about 100 samples were pending with the laboratory.
