FDP on “Machine Learning for Data Science & Analytics” is inaugurated at VTU
Pragativahini News, Belagavi –A five day TEQIP Sponsored Faculty development Programme (FDP) on “Machine Learning for Data Science & Analytics” is being organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, VTU, Belagavi, from 28th Jan to 1st Feb 2020. The FDP was inaugurated by the Chief guest P. B. Kotur, Global Head – Freshers Engagement Program, Wipro Limited, Bengaluru. He spoke on the need of interdisciplinary courses for switching from traditional to modern style teaching. He also mentioned that teachers are the change makers of society.
The Inaugural function was presided over by Dr. Anand S. Deshpande, Registrar of VTU. He told in the presidential address that, Machine Learning is today’s buzzword and most happening area in engineering and technology. He also mentioned that VTU may have collaborations with Wipro in some academic related activities in coming days. Dr. Satish Annigeri, Registrar (Evaluation) of VTU mentioned that teachers should give big picture of the subject and also a proper direction, so that students can excel in this digital world.
Dr. S. A. Angadi, Chairperson of CSE Department welcomed the gathering. Dr. R. H. Goudar, FDP Coordinator presented a glimpse of faculty development program emphasizing on the need of Machine learning in present days. The programme concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Prof. Rohit Kaliwal. The programme was compered by Prof. Ranjana B. Nadgoudar. The FDP is being attended by more than 50 faculty members.
