
Pragativahini News, Belagavi : Koganolli, a border place in Karnataka to Maharashtra is turning into Graveyard as four people died in other states cremated, buried in the village.
Situated just about a few kilometers from Nippani, a last taluk headquarter of the state, on Pune-Bengaluru National Highway, has a vehicular checkpoint of both the states. The checkpoint is the major entry between both the states as lakhs of vehicles cross and roll into other state. However, after lockdown declared the check-post gates tightened for entry over many strict norms of COVID-19. “Do not carry dead bodies from each others state” was one among such norms.
After, lockdown four from the state died for various reason, except COVID-19 died in Maharashtra, however, their bodies were brought till the border and at the entry of the state, were buried/cremated far away from the village and highway in the government barren land.
One 58-year-old Basavaraj Belagavi from Bailhongal town in Belagavi district killed in a road accident at Thane district in Mumbai, Maharashtra on Wednesday afternoon. After completion of autopsy and other administrative and police formalities his body was handed over to his relatives.
