Highlights of the PM Video Conference with Chief Ministers -Night Corona Curfew

Pragativahini News, Bengaluru – Highlights of the Video Conference by Prime Minister with Chief Ministers of all States with reference to Karnataka:
1. Today  the Video Conference by  Prime Minister and appraised him about the COVID 19 situation in the State and the measures taken by the State.
2. More number of COVID positive cases is reported in Bengaluru and 6 other districts. Though there is surge in number of cases, the fatality rate remains low.  The case fatality rate was 0.50% in the State yesterday. Government of India has also expressed content over this.
3. Prime Minister stressed upon enhanced testing.
4. He also advised to focus on micro-containment zones.
5. He told to ensure sufficient ambulance, oxygen supply and ventilators.
6. Prime Minister called upon to take Vaccine drive from 11th to 14th of April.
7. He advised to take up awareness campaigns about COVID appropriate behavior with the help of Celebrities and opinion makers in the society with special focus on youths.
 *In this wake, Karnataka Government has taken following decisions:
**Night Corona Curfew from 10 pm to 5 am everyday from 10th April to 20th April will be imposed in Bangalore, Mysore, Mangalore, Kalaburagi, Bidar, Tumkur, Udupi-Manipal.*
**Essential services will be allowed.*
* *Vaccination drive will be taken up from April 11th (Jyotiba Phule’s birthday) till April 14th  (Ambedker’s birthday)*
8. Karnataka prohibited gatherings for fairs and festivals and other religious and social gatherings and ensuring the same is complied with. Action has been initiated to impose penalties on those who do not wear mask and maintain distancing in public places.
9. Karnataka have taken up vaccination at a large scale.  About 6,000 Vaccination Centers are working daily.  Of these, 5,400 are in government facilities and 600 in private facilities.   So far, we have vaccinated more than 53 lakh people.   We have vaccinated 22.31 % of the target population above 45 years of age as compared to the National Average of 13.94 % as on 5.4.2021.
10. Karnataka have taken utmost care to minimize the vaccine wastage.
  Due to the surge, we have doubled the number of tests   to about 1.20 lakh now. These days, more than 95% of the tests are being conducted using RT-PCR method.
11. Karnataka have ramped up the number of general beds, oxygenated beds and ICUs.  Karnataka have more than 42,000 general beds, 30,000 oxygenated beds, 3,000 ICUs and 2,900 beds with Ventilators in general hospitals.
12. Karnataka sought Hon’ble PM to provide oxygen generators from PM-CARES fund to decrease the load on oxygen manufacturing.
13.Karnataka  taking all possible measures to contain the pandemic and hope to succeed in it with support from the Central Government.
14. But co-operation and responsible behavior of the citizens matters the most.  So people of the State to follow all the guidelines issued by the Government from time to time and help us contain the pandemic.
