The case of the sexual video in Bantwal town has taken a new turn as it is turned out to be the honey trap.
A video f a girl and a Monu alias Abdul Rahman (55) a resident of Tippu Nagar in Bantwal was moving round in the social media for some days. In the that video Monu was found in compromising position with the girl. Police arrested Monu on the suspicion that he himself had made it viral.
During investigation it was found that Monu was honey trapped by some unscrupulous elements. He had come in contact with a girl about 8 months ago and had had physical contact with her in aa lodge in Mangaluru. The girl had video recorded the intimate positions with Monu. Few days later an unknown person had called Monu on his mobile and demanded for the money. When Monu enquired with the girl she reportedly told him that she had given her mobile for repair and then the video was taken by the mobile repairer.
Monu was under continuous pressure from the blackmailers who were demanding money from him. When he did not relent he was abducted and the abductors had snatched him money. Later they had made the video viral. Police arrested Monu on the suspicion that he was behind publicising the video.
Now 10 separate cases have been lodged in Bantwal police station and police on search for the culprits.
