“Human brain is much superior to any super computer.  Proper use of that will prevent the  machines overtaking us, observed Vela D. K. Principal Judge, Family Court, Belagavi.

She was attending the inaugural lecture in the Decennial Lecture Series organised by the Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi at the K. K. Venugopal Auditorium on  the Karnataka Law Society Campus, Tilakawadi, Belagavi today, as the Chief Guest of the function.

She spoke about Artificial Intelligence and its interference in all the walks of life, including marital life of the people. The Decennial Lecture Series is organised by the KSLU to commemorate its 10th  Anniversary.

A lecture on “Disrupting Injustice: Legal Education to Formulate Strategies for Advancing Social Justice” was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) V. B. Coutinho, Vice Chancellor, Garden City University, Bengaluru. Prof. Coutinho emphasized the role of law institutions as well as law teachers in achieving the social justice. He quoted the example of Mohini Jain, who single handedly fought against the capitation fees, as a result of which Article 21-A was inserted in the Constitution providing for compulsory and free education as a fundamental right.

The President of the function Prof. (Dr.) P. Ishwara Bhat, Vice Chancellor, Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi introduced  the Decennial Lecture Series and told that the object of the series is to give an opportunity to the people of different parts of Karnataka, especially law students to listen to the scholarly speeches by legal luminaries and then compile a book containing these speeches for the benefit of all the concerned. He appreciated the service rendered by K.L.S.’s R. L. Law College towards the cause of legal education.

Dr. Sandhya H.V., Principal R. L. Law College Welcomed the gathering. Dean and Director of  Karnataka State Law University, Prof. (Dr.) C. S. Patil rendered the vote of thanks.  Dr. D. Prasannakumar, S. S. Hegde, Dr. Samina Nahid Baig and Jyoti Kulkarni introduced the Dignitaries and coordinated the event.  Vijay Desai compered the program.
