KLE DEEMED VV OBSERVED NATIONAL CONSTITUTION DAY

The KLE Deemed University had organized a meeting to observe  National Constitution Day in the Anatomy Lecture Hall, J.N.Medical College, Belagavi, as per the directions of the Government of India.

The dignitaries offered floral tribute to the portrait of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R.Ambedkar, Architect of the Indian Constitution. It was on this day in 1949, the Indian Constitution was unanimously adopted by the Constituent Assembly.

Prof. D.Y.Kulkarni, Retd. Principal, R.L.Law College, Belagavi was the Chief Guest and delivered a lecture on ‘Importance of Fundamental Duties and Rights of Citizens’.  Speaking on the occasion, he said the Indian constitution is the lengthiest and well-written document drafted by the                         Constituted Assembly, chaired by Bharat Ratna Dr.B.R.Ambedkar. He called upon the citizens to abide by the Constitution of India. He also emphasized the need and importance of duties and rights of citizens as enshrined in the Constitution of India. He highlighted the important articles in the Constitution including article 370 and the problems involved in it.

Dr.N.S.Mahantashetti, Principal, J.N.Medical College, Belagavi read the ‘Preamble of the Indian Constitution’. Dr. Alka D.Kale, Principal, KLE VK Institute of Dental Sciences, Belagavi administered the pledge of ‘Fundamental Duties of Indian citizens’ to the staff and students.

Dr.V.D.Patil, Registrar, KAHER presided over the function. Speaking on the occasion, he said every right comes with due responsibility as our Constitution is ‘By the People, For the People and Of the People’. Dr. M.S.Shivaswamy, NSS Program Co-ordinator, KAHER welcomed and introduced the Chief Guest.

Dr. Ashwini Narasannavar, Assistant NSS Programme Co-ordinator, KAHER proposed vote of thanks. Ms. Anita Chougala anchored the program. Principals, Vice-Principals, KAHER Officials, Faculty Members, Administrator and Students of the University and constituent units were present.

The Program concluded with singing of the National Anthem. The program  started with observing one minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed souls of M.H.Ambarish and Shri C.K.Jaffer Sharief, both Former Union Ministers.The function was organized by the NSS Cell of the KLE Deemed University in association with the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of Karnataka.
