An escort vehicle which was following Minister R V Deshpande met with an accident on Ananshi ghat and turned turtle on Saturday. Two police personnel –Driver of the vehicle Rajesh and Prakash Assistant Sub inspector-who were in the vehicle suffered minor injuries.
Minister was travelling from Haliyal to Karwar and the police vehicle (Bolero) vehicle which was following him fell down on the lower road from the height at the second hair-pin curve on the ghat. The driver of the speeding vehicle reportedly lost his control and the vehicle fell down from the height. The injured persons were admitted to the hospital in Kadra.
Minister Deshpande who spoke to Vinayak Patil, SP and asked him to make arrangement for the treatment of the injured police personnel. Later he left for Karwar. Kadra police are investigating the case.
