The State Information Commissioner (SIC) has imposed of fine of Rs.10000 each on the officials in three different cases, according to Shrinivasagowda, an RTI activist from Ramadurga.
Shrinivasagowda said he had filed an application under the RTI act before Inchalamath, a Manager in Ramadurga Taluk Panchayat who was the Public Information Officer (PIO). As the official had failed to furnish the information within the prescribed time an appeal had been filed. Even after the appeal the PIO failed to provide the information and the SIC has imposed the fine of Rs. 20000 together on the official.
In another incident an RTI application had been filed before Shekhar Hiresomannanavar, PDO of Mudenur gram Panchayat in Ramadurga taluk. The SIC has imposed the fine of Rs. 10000 on the PDO for not furnishing the information in time.
The officials have already paid the fine amount Shrinivasagowda said.
