Police Prevents Maharashtra Marathi Authors to Take Part in Marathi Literary Meet
Pragati vahini News, Belagavi :Since there were provoked speeches to pro-Maharashtrians in the current chapter of Marathi Taluk Sahitya Sammelanas, police, to maintain law and order situation in district on language row, prevented Marathi authours from Maharashtra in taking part in Khanapur Taluk Marathi Sahitya Sammelana organising at Iddalhond village on the taluk.
Marathi writers from Maharashtra Basavaraj Chinage, Gajanan Chinage, TK Pandit, Sripal Sabnis were invited to speak in the literary meet. As there were objectionable and provoking remarks and comments in a few taluk sammelanas of the current year, police have prevented the entry of these writers.
The writers prevented told news persons that “The Sahitya has no Language. The literature from all language should be dignified.We were here to speak about the literature and not to disturb the peace in Karnataka”, said writer Basavaraj Chinage.
