Sixty four contestants left in fray in Belagavi Lok Sabha Constituency

Pragativahini News, Belagavi
After scrutiny of the nomination papers for the Belagavi Lok Sabbha election, total 64 candidates are left in the fray. Of them 6 are the candidates from different political parties and rest of the 58 are independents. The election for the Belagavi LS seat will be held on April 23.
Tomorrow (April 8) is the last day for the withdrawal of the nomination papers. After that the picture will be clear.
The contestants from different political parties are Suresh Angadi (BJP), Badruddin Kamadod (BSP), Virupakshappa Sadhunavar (INC), Ashok Hanaji (Sarva Janata Party), Dilshad Tahashildar (Republican Party of India), Manjunath Rajappanavar (Uttama PrajakIya Party).
Total four women candidates – of them three are independents – are in fray. Most of the independents are contesting in the election, as Maharashtra Ekeekaran Sameeti had allegedly abetted them to do so. The MES had earlier declared that it would field 101 candidates to draw the attention towards long standing border dispute. But MES could not field 101 candidates as most of it’s supporters are of the view that MES is a sinking boat and reportedly refused to contest.
