*Stop filing FIRs against those who submitted Form 7: Opposition Leader R. Ashok demands*

Pragativahini News: Opposition Leader R. Ashoka and BJP leaders have urged the Director General of Police to stop registering FIRs against those who submitted Form 7.

Former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra, Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, MPs and MLAs, along with Opposition Leader R. Ashoka, met the DGP and submitted a memorandum.

Speaking to reporters afterwards, he said the Congress government is practising goondaism even while in power. Form 6 and Form 7 are applications provided under the Constitution. Congress leaders protested in front of the Election Commission office opposing the filing of Form 7. They have pressured the election authorities to arrest those who filed Form 7 and to register criminal cases against them. Because of this, police are registering criminal cases against BJP workers. All police stations have become Congress offices, he said.

Filing Form 7 is our right. It is for the Election Commission to decide whether a voter’s records are correct or not. But expecting Election Commission officials to act as the Congress says is unconstitutional. People from Bangladesh were brought in and settled on 15 acres of land at Kogilu Cross. They do not even know Kannada. An attempt was made to add more than 300 families settled there to the voter list. We fought against this, and after we went to court, that attempt failed. That they were illegal immigrants became known to the world. If such 10 lakh illegal Bangladeshi immigrants are added to the voter list, it will help the Congress win. In the Kogilu Cross matter, former CM Siddaramaiah and ministers Zameer Ahmed Khan and Krishna Byre Gowda stood with the Bangladeshi residents. A decision had been taken to give them houses. Later, that decision was withdrawn, he said.

Through Form 7, the votes of Bangladeshis are slipping away. Because of this, the Congress is afraid of defeat everywhere. That is why Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and all the ministers staged a sit-in in front of the Election Commission office. They had written about this on X. They had said the Election Commission was scared of our protest. Now they are lying and saying we never held a sit-in. These records are enough for the police to register a case. After we protested and submitted a petition to the Police Commissioner, the Congress issued a statement claiming it had never held a sit-in, he said.

Even if the police register cases, BJP workers will not back down. If they do not withdraw, we will intensify the agitation further. If it is said we have no authority to file Form 7, then why are these forms being issued like this? Online, as many applications as needed can be printed and submitted. They have alleged that the applications were printed by the RSS, which builds the nation. Former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, who committed irregularities in elections, later imposed the Emergency. Such a party is now lecturing us about elections. Those who defeated Babasaheb Ambedkar in an election and denied land for his last rites are teaching the Constitution. This government will last only one more year. If police officers misuse their power, they will have to regret it later. An NDA government is going to come to power in the state. Then we will settle accounts with the police officers, he warned.

Central team has arrived

A team of central government officials has now arrived to study the drought. It is not merely an inspection. Accurate figures must be given to them. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi government has given double the relief compared with the Manmohan Singh government. The Congress government has done injustice to farmers. From the BJP side, in the first phase, we will visit districts such as Chikkaballapur, Doddaballapur, Chamarajanagar and Mandya and inspect the drought.
