Suresh Angadi, Minister of State of Railways conducted a surprise inspection of Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station.
He inspected the Sleeper and General Class Coaches of a train ready to depart from Nizamuddin to Jabalpur, stationed at PF-1 and also talked to the passengers regarding cleanliness of coaches, punctuality and other passenger related issues.
Angadi urged the passengers to help in maintaining hygiene and cleanliness of the coaches & toilets and thereafter instructed Railway officials present at the spot to bring about awareness among passengers for general good upkeep of railway coaches and the stations.
Drinking water facility at the platforms were also inspected keeping in view the the prevailing summer season.
He also inspected the station from Security point of view of passengers and Railway premises. He visited RPF Security Room and CCTV Room and was briefed by the RPF officials regarding security arrangements and the mechanism to keep strict watch at entry of unauthorized persons and unclaimed baggage/goods etc.
The Minister advised Railway authorities to install more high resolution CCTV for better identification of passengers and their movement.
Minister also inspected Waiting Halls, Tacks, Signage’s, Escalator etc. with passenger friendly, cleanliness and hygiene point of views and gave away instructions to Railway officials to always keep them in good condition.
Further Angadi stated that these kinds of surprise inspections at different railway stations would continue in future and advised Railway officials to gear up in order to make the stations equivalent to the world class railway stations.
Manoj Tiwari, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, North East Delhi was also accompanied him during the inspection.
