GIT Students Excelled at KPIT Project Competition

A innovative project on energy by the team Mechatron consists of  Abduljabbar Khan, Ajay Lengade, Ankur Chitnis, Ajit Navi and Aayan Munshi of Mechanical Engineering Department, KLS Gogte Institute of Technology (GIT), Belagavi under guidance of Dr. Shrinivas L. Gombi, Professor, Mechanical Engineering Dept. after rigorous rounds of selection process, project had listed in top 30 and selected for the Grand Finale and project Exhibition called KPIT SPARKLE. This was held at Pimpri-Chinchawad College of Engineering, Pune, during 22nd to 24th February 2019 organized by KPIT.

KPIT Sparkle 2019, with the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, as its knowledge partner, KPIT Technologies Ltd invited students to develop next-generation technologies in Energy & Mobility for the Future. It received more than 22,150 registrations from more than 1121 engineering and science colleges including 28 premier institutes like IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) and NIT (National Institutes of Technology) in the pre-qualification stage. Based on the novelty, affordability and commercial viability evaluaters shortlisted 30 teams out of 1915 teams for the finals and KLSGIT was one amongst.

The project is based on generation of electricity by pedaling using a sewing machine mechanism while sitting on the chair and simultaneously performing some other work.

Dr. Anil Sahasrabuddhe, Chairman AICTE, New Delhi was one of the jury members and has appreciated the Idea, design and performance of this project and personally tested it. Also other eminent juries Padma Vibhushan Dr. R.A.Mashelkar, Dr. Peter F.Tropschuh, Dr. Carl Perin & Masashige Mizuyama were evaluated these projects. This project by KLSGIT was completely funded by the KLS management.
