Pragativahini News, Belagavi – The 71st Republic Day was celebrated today at the Belagavi Airport with very simple way without high show. On this auspicious occasion, a 100 ft. high National Flag was hoisted in the premises of the Airport Terminal Building by Rajesh Kumar Maurya, Airport Director, Belagavi Airport.
He addressed the crowd and expressed his desire and commitment towards starting of more Flight Operations from Belagavi Airport under the UDAN-3 Scheme. At present, 28 movements (14 arrival + 14 departure) to Bengaluru, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Indore, Mysuru, Tirupati and Pune by the Airlines M/s. Alliance Air, M/s, Ghodawat (Star Air), M/s. SpiceJet, M/s. Indigo Airlrines and M/s. Truejet. Airport Director told that the ILS work is in progress and may commission in the coming months which will enhance the safety aspects of the aircraft during landing and taking off in case of bad weather condition and low visibility.
In this occasion, wife of late Martyr Honorary Capt. Yallapa Patil Nirmala Patil, Atul Shirole , Internationally recognized wrestler, Kirti Suranjan – Gulmohar Bag (the group of artist of Belagavi) and the Shilpa Khadagbhari, Senior Artist & Dream Fly group headed by Sudharshan, Belagavi attended the event along with their volunteers/students and all expressed their gratitude and thanks to Airports Authority of India, Belagavi Airport.
A special water salute was offered to our National Flag on the occasion by the Fire dept. of AAI, Belagavi with the help of latest Rosenbauer ACFT (Airfield Crash Fire Tender).
Various cultural events and activities were conducted by kids of AAI/DGR employees, students of Janta School Sambra and staff of Star Airlines. More than 300 people graced the event with their presence. Airport Director, Belagavi Airport expressed vote of thanks to all the employee of Airports Authority of India: Belagavi Airport, KSISF (Airport Security Unit), DGR, MeT, HPCL, M/s. Air India/Alliance Air, M/s, Ghodawat (Star Air) , M/s. SpiceJet M/s. Indigo Airlrines and M/s. Truejet and other stakeholders and felicitated with rose buds to HoDs of all Entities of Belagavi Airport and other invited guest. The whole event was smoothly anchored by two AAI officers , Mahindra Salvi, SM(CNS) and Sarvesh Singh, JE(E-E).
