A dispute over grazing cattle in a mango farm took worst turn in Mutyanahattil village in Belagavi taluk on Thursday night and person was brutally killed by a gang of for persons. The incident reported around 9 pm.
The old enmity is the reason behind the murder and Sidrayi Kannappa Nayik (30) is the person who lost his live. Same people had attacked the elder brother of the victim few days ago and a case had been lodged in Kakati police station in this connection.
According to the reports Sidrayi had cultivated a mango farm in the village and the family members of the accused were grazing their cattle in that land when Sidrayi was away from the farm. This had led to the clashes between two families. On Thursday there was argument over the issue and the accused arrived at Sidrayi’s house and attacked him. Some women were also the part of the attacking group it is said.
Soon after the incident Srishail Kaulajagi Kakati PSI arrived on the spot and body was sent for the post mortem. The accused had escaped and the police are searching for them. The investigation is on.
