Indian Railways which has the highest number of employees in the wold will not be privatised, said Piyush Goyal, Union Minister for railways.
In a written reply to the question asked by Surendra Nath Nagar, member of SP in Rajyasabha, Piyush has made this clarification. Indian Railway department had sent a proposal of handing over seven of its production units to Rolling Stok company which was opposed by the various trade unions. There were rumour that the Railway department has decided to handover the maintenance of Rajadhani and Shatabdi express trains. Now with minister himself denying it the matter has ended. He also said the 50% of the lady’s constable seats in Railways will be reserved for the women.
