*ವಿಶ್ವೇಶ್ವರಯ್ಯ ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಭಿಯಂತರರ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆ ಆಚರಣೆ*
ಪ್ರಗತಿವಾಹಿನಿ ಸುದ್ದಿ: ವಿಶ್ವ ಕಂಡ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರ್ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರಾದ ಸರ್ ಎಂ ವಿಶ್ವೇಶ್ವರಯ್ಯನವರ ಜನ್ಮದಿನಾಚರಣೆ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ಬೆಳಗಾವಿಯ ವಿಶ್ವೇಶ್ವರಯ್ಯ ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಭಿಯಂತರರ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಬೆಳಗಾವಿ ನಗರದ ಪೋಲಿಸ ಕಮಿಷನರ್ ಭೂಷಣ ಗುಲಾಬರಾವ ಬೋರಸೆ ಅವರು ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಸರ್ ಎಂ ವಿಶ್ವೇಶ್ವರಯ್ಯನವರ ಭಾವಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಪುಷ್ಪಾರ್ಚನೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಸ್ವತಃ: ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರಿಂಗ್ ಪದವೀಧರರಾದ ಅವರು ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಸರ್. ಎಂ. ವಿಶ್ವೇಶ್ವರಯ್ಯನವರು ಆಧುನಿಕ ಭಾರತದ ನಿರ್ಮಾತೃರರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರಾಗಿದ್ದು ಅವರು ಬದುಕು ಕೇವಲ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರಿಂಗ್ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅಧಿಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಮಾದರಿಯಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ ಅವರು ಅವರ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ಈ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಓದುತ್ತಿರುವ ನೀವು ಅವರ ರಾಯಭಾರಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆಯಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಇವತ್ತಿನ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಪುಸ್ತಕದ ಜ್ಞಾನದ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯ ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ನೀವು ಬದುಕಿನ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ರಕ್ಷಣಾತ್ಮಕ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬದುಕುತ್ತ ಇದ್ದಿರಿ ಕಾರಣ ತೋರಿಕೆಯ ಬದುಕನ್ನ ಮೈಗೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಸರಳವಾಗಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಬದುಕನ್ನ ಬದುಕಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಾದಕ ವಸ್ತುಗಳ ಬಳಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸೇವನೆಯಿದ ದೂರವಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೀಯ ಭಾಷಣ ಮಾಡಿದ ಕುಲಪತಿ ಪ್ರೊ ವಿದ್ಯಾಶಂಕರ್ ಎಸ್ ಅವರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರಿಂಗ್ ಪದವಿಧರರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಲು
ವಿ ಟಿ ಯು ಅನೇಕ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಂಡು ಸೆಂಟರ್ ಆಫ್ ಎಕ್ಸೆಲೆನ್ಸ್ ಗಳನ್ನ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಕುಲಸಚಿವರಾದ ಪ್ರೊ. ಬಿ. ಈ. ರಂಗಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು, ಪ್ರೊ. ಟಿ. ಎನ್. ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ ವಂದಿಸಿದರು, ಪ್ರೊ ಎಸ್. ಎ. ಅಂಗಡಿ ಪ್ರಾಸ್ತಾವಿಕ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನಾಡಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರೊ. ವಿವೇಕ್ ರೆಡ್ಡಿ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಿದರು. ಪ್ರೊ ರಂಜನಾ ನಾಡಗೌಡರ್ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಣಕಾಸು ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ಡಾ ಪ್ರಶಾಂತ ನಾಯಕ್ ಜಿ, ವಿಟಿಯು ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಮತ್ತು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
Engineers Day Celebrated at VTU
Engineers’ Day and Teachers Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of one of the greatest engineers the world has ever seen, Sir M. Visvesvaraya. The event was graced by Shri Bhushan Gulabrao Borse, Commissioner of Police, Belagavi, as the Chief Guest.
The program began with a floral tribute to the portrait of Sir M. Visvesvaraya and Dr S Radha . Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest, an engineering graduate himself, remarked that Sir Visvesvaraya, as one of the architects of modern India, serves as an inspiration not only to engineering students but to everyone, including those in positions of responsibility. He encouraged the students studying at VTU to grow into ambassadors of Sir Visvesvaraya’s values and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s progress.He further emphasized the importance of supplementing textbook knowledge with practical skills and urged students to focus on holistic development. “You are at a crucial stage in your life. Lead a simple and disciplined student life rather than being attracted by superficial pursuits. Stay away from substance abuse and maintain a healthy lifestyle,” he advised.
In his presidential address, Vice Chancellor Prof. Vidyashankar S. stated that VTU has launched several initiatives and established Centers of Excellence to ensure that students become well-rounded engineering graduates. He highlighted the university’s commitment to promoting technical knowledge along with ethical values and leadership qualities.
Registrar Prof B E Rangaswamy welcomed, Prof T N Sreenivasa proposed a vote of thanks, Prof S A Angadi gave initial remarks and Prof Vivek Reddy introduced the chief guest. Prof Ranjana Nadgoudar anchored the program. At this occasion VTU finance officer Dr Prashant Nayak G, staff members and students of VTU were present.
