Pragativahini News, Belagavi : As sale of IMFL prevented in entire nation, the sale of illicit arrack was in boom in the villages shared borders with forest area, where the arrack being manufactured and sold, the Excise staff would be initiated strict action if failed to curb the menace, warned Belagavi Rural MLA Laxmi Hebbalkar.
At a meeting of the taskforce at Belagavi Taluk Panchayat on Thursday, said she was told that the arrack illegally manufactured at her constituency was being sold for Rs per pouch, while it was for Rs 10 before announcement of lockdown. She said she wanted to curbed the illegal trade completely as she wanted non-alcohol, healthy society.
As far as epidemic COVID-19 was concerned Laxmi said about 3, 800 people – from foreign countries and other places of the nation- arrived to different villages in her constituency who have been lodged under Home Quarantine, however, it was not known whether all are in quarantine or not, the taskforce much check and keep a watch on them and also to make arrangement to re-quarantine if found not in the quarantined places.
She appealed people to cooperate the government to get victory on the deadly epidemic by following the instructions.
