Pragativahini News, Bengaluru : Laxmi Hebbalkar representing Belagavi Rural constituency has urged CM Yeddyurappa to extend COVID-19 government include many other categories which indirectly helping to eradicate the Corona Virus.
The Congress MLA who met CM at Bengaluru on Wednesday hailed him for his attempt being made to protect the state from the virus, his concern on those attached directly to the aim. However, she said there are many other categories which left uncared in the matter which must be considered.
She said alike departments like revenue, education, rural development, water and power supply dealing directly with the people during their work. Knowingly or unknowingly they encounter many positives during their work, however, would not get any benefit if infected, for which they also be covered with all the insurance and other scheme.
The first time legislator urged the chief minister to include the non-government sectors under Garibhi Kalyan Scheme and extend the insurance schemes and medical benefit coverage to women working class.
She said there are more than 60 lakh women working in many non-organised sectors who were not provided government any facility. She said 6 lakh women engaged in garment industry, 3 lakh in tobacco sector, 25 lakh in agriculture, 5 lakh in construction, 4 lakh women engaged in beautician business. These women were not getting any aid, help, assistance from government but helping in constructing the nation. The self-employed sector must also be considered as warriors and be included in the corona package.
