Pragativahini News, Belagavi– Airport Belagavi planted more than 5,100 trees in Close association with Green Saviors team in just two hours at Airport today, to create a mini forest.
Airports Authority of India is fully dedicated to reduce the carbon emission and promote all Eco -Friendly practices in all AAI managed Airports in India.
The major sponsors of the Project were Rotary Club of Belgaum, Suryoday Small Finance Bank and Dream Fly Aviation. The plantation drive had almost 800 volunteers which included students NCC volunteers from KLE G A High School and students from Gogte College of Commerce, Bharatesh College, Pant Balekundri School, Jingouda Group of Institutions and Dream Fly Aviation. The first sapling was planted by Social Activist Shivaji Kaganikar, Dr Madhav Prabhu – Pyaas Foundation , Aarti Bhandare – Boondh and Rajesh Kumar Maurya , Airport Director, Belagavi Airport.

The work was completed in 2 hours beginning at 7.45 AM and Completed at 9.45 AM. The plot will be maintained by Green Saviors to form a dense forest in two years Water pipe lines for watering have been laid with Sewerage treatment plant at Airport , the treated water will be used in watering of the plants.
