Anant kumar Hegde Union Minister and BJP candidate filed his nomination from Uttara Kannada Lok Sabha constituency on Tuesday.
Anant kumar accompanied by his wife Shriroopa Hegde, former Chief Minister Jagadeesh Shettar and district BJP president K. G. Naik submitted his nomination papers to Harish kumar K. Deputy Commissioner and Returning officer of Uttara Kannada parliamentary constituency. It is his seventh parliamentary nomination and of six elections in the past he had won five times.
Later addressing the party workers at Daivajna Kalyana Manatapa here Anant kumar criticised his rivals for misinformation campaign that he (Anant kumar) had not done any developmental work in the constituency. He said that he had brought out a booklet in Kannada, English and Marathi languages about the work done by him. Referring the criticism that he is not seeking the votes in his name but in the name of Modi, Anant kumar said that in past six elections too he had sought the votes in the name of the party. Party is a collective organisation of individuals and we in BJP always seek votes in the name of party he said.
Jagadeesh Shettar in his speech criticised the ‘unholy’ alliance between Congress and JDS to keep BJP out. This state government is a government of false promises and loan waiver of the farmers is a fake promise alleged.
