Belagavi: Angadi International School, Belagavi, successfully hosted the CBSE District Level Deliberation (DLD) Workshop on Computational Thinking (CT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) on September 11, bringing together more than 30 educators, school leaders and academic experts from across Belagavi district.
Organised in alignment with CBSE Training Notification No. TRG-02 and the objectives of NEP 2020, the one-day offline workshop provided a collaborative platform for educators to explore innovative approaches to strengthening Computational Thinking and AI literacy among students of Grades 3 to 8.
Conducted as a paperless initiative, the workshop emphasised peer learning, progressive pedagogy and the exchange of classroom-tested strategies. Participants discussed ways to integrate computational problem-solving, critical thinking and ethical and responsible use of AI into everyday teaching and learning.
The workshop was inaugurated by Mrs. Varsha Gaonkar, Vice-President of Venugram Sahodya and Principal of KLE School, Saundatti.
The Appreciation Committee comprised Dr. Hanamesh Dudyal, Principal, Kalpavruksha Model School, Bailhongal; Dr. Pooja Angolkar, HOD, Robotics & Automation, AITM; and Prof. Avanti Patil, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, AITM. The programme was hosted by Sangeeta S. Talwar, Deputy District Training Coordinator, Belagavi and Principal, Angadi International School, Belagavi.
12 Case Papers Presented
A major highlight of the workshop was the presentation of 12 case papers by teachers, showcasing practical and outcome-oriented applications of Computational Thinking and AI across subjects including mathematics and language learning.
After evaluating the presentations, the Appreciation Committee selected three outstanding case papers to be forwarded to the CBSE Centre of Excellence (CoE) for wider dissemination across the national CBSE network.
The selected case papers were:
“Interdisciplinary Connections: CT across Subjects at Middle Stage” — presented by Rupali V. Hiremath, Angadi International School, Belagavi.
“Ethics and Responsible Use of AI” — presented by Sushma Desai, Love Dale Central School, Belagavi.
“Foundations of Computational Thinking (CT) and AI Readiness” — presented by Manisha B. Undre and Snehal A. Jadhav, D.M.S. Mandal’s Jyoti Central School, Belagavi.
Speaking on the occasion, Sangeeta S. Talwar said the quality of work and innovative strategies presented by teachers reflected their commitment to translating the vision of NEP 2020 into classroom practice. She emphasised that sharing scalable and low-cost approaches to Computational Thinking and AI would help educators collectively prepare students for a rapidly evolving digital future.
The workshop concluded with a strong emphasis on collaborative learning, responsible technology use and equipping teachers with practical strategies to nurture future-ready skills among students.
