With 57 candidates in the fray the Belagavi parliamentary constituency is running short of 7152 ballet units. The election commission has been requested by the Belagavi district administration to supply these excess ballet units and the requisition is already sent to the election commission.
Dr. Vishal Deputy Commissioner and Returning officer held a meeting of candidates and agents said that once the new ballet units arrive first and second randomisation will be done in front of the representives of the registered political parties. If any candidate seek the votes in the name of cast or religion, or distribute money and liquor for the vote’s then cases will be filed against them, he said.
Candidates campaign from 6 am to 10 pm and administration will strive hard to provide the public places to all the political parties to hold the meeting. But this will be done on first come first serve basis. Only the candidate who has got the permission to hold such meeting will be allowed and the permission cannot be transferred to any other candidate DC said.
Rajeev Chandra Dube, Election observer said that every stage of the election process is being watched. If there is any complaint or any lapses that can be brought to my notice, Dube said.
