Case Filed against JDS candidate for violating model Code of Conduct

Two cases have been filed against JDS candidate Anand Asnotikar, for violating the model code of conduct during the filing of nomination papers in Karwar on Thursday.
The JDS candidate took out the procession before filing his nomination papers in Karwar on Thursday but deviated from the prescribed root. The observers warned him of the violation but he continued to defy the order it is said. A vehicle carrying the JDS flags and buntings was seized near Majali Check post on Karwar – Goa border on Thursday afternoon and the vehicle was seized with the material. Two separate cases have been filed against Anand Asnotikar in this regard according to M. Roshan, Electoral Officer.
Total 16 candidates are in fray in Uttara Kannada Lok Sabha constituency. Seven persons filed their nomination on Thursday which was the last day for filing nomination papers.
Barring Anant kumar Hegde (BJP, Anand Asnotikar (JDS) and Krishnaji Patil (Shiv Sena) rest are the independents.
