ಪ್ರಗತಿವಾಹಿನಿ ಸುದ್ದಿ: ಪೆರು ಗಣರಾಜ್ಯದೊಂದಿಗಿನ ಬಾಂಧವ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಗಟ್ಟಿಗೊಳಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ, ಪೆರು ದೇಶದ ರಾಜಧಾನಿ ಲಿಮಾ (Lima) ನಂತಹ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ನಗರ ಹಾಗೂ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ನಗರದ ನಡುವೆ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ‘ಸಿಸ್ಟರ್-ಸಿಟಿ’ (Sister-City) ಒಪ್ಪಂದ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಉತ್ಸುಕವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಉಪಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಡಾ. ಜಿ. ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರ್ ಅವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಭಾರತ ಮತ್ತು ಪೆರು ನಡುವಿನ 63 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ನಿರಂತರ ರಾಜತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಬಾಂಧವ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಪೆರು ಗಣರಾಜ್ಯದ 205ನೇ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆಯ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಶಾಂಗ್ರಿ-ಲಾ ಹೋಟೆಲ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದ ಉನ್ನತ ಮಟ್ಟದ ರಾಜತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ಸಮಾರಂಭವನ್ನು ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಉಪಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳು, ಪೆರುವಿನ ಲ್ಯಾಟಿನ್ ಅಮೆರಿಕನ್ ವಿಮೋಚನಾ ಚಳುವಳಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಮಹಾತ್ಮ ಗಾಂಧಿಯವರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದ ಭಾರತದ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಹೋರಾಟದ ನಡುವಿನ ಆಳವಾದ ಸಾಮ್ಯತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸಿದರು.
“ಭಾರತದ ಐಟಿ ಸಾಫ್ಟ್ವೇರ್ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಮತ್ತು ಜೈವಿಕ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ (BT) ಉತ್ಪಾದನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ಶೇ. 40 ಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಪಾಲನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಡೀ ದೇಶವನ್ನೇ ಮುನ್ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಹೂಡಿಕೆದಾರರ ಸಮಾವೇಶದ ಅಭೂತಪೂರ್ವ ಯಶಸ್ಸು ಮತ್ತು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಹರಿದುಬಂದ ಬೃಹತ್ ಹೂಡಿಕೆಗಳು ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಪ್ರಗತಿಯನ್ನು ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಸಾಬೀತುಪಡಿಸಿವೆ,” ಎಂದು ಅವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
“ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಮತ್ತು ಪೆರು ದೇಶದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ನಗರದ ನಡುವೆ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ, ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಮತ್ತು ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೇರ ಸಾಂಸ್ಥಿಕ ಸಹಯೋಗವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಸಿಸ್ಟರ್-ಸಿಟಿ ಒಪ್ಪಂದವು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಮಹತ್ವದ್ದಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದು ಭವಿಷ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಭಯ ದೇಶಗಳ ನಡುವಿನ 10 ಬಿಲಿಯನ್ ಡಾಲರ್ ದ್ವಿಪಕ್ಷೀಯ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ ವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಮುನ್ನುಡಿಯಾಗಲಿದೆ,” ಎಂದು ಅವರು ವಿಶ್ವಾಸ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿನ ಪೆರು ರಾಯಭಾರಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಜೇವಿಯರ್ ಮ್ಯಾನುಯೆಲ್ ಪೌಲಿನಿಚ್ ವೆಲಾರ್ಡ್, “ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ನಗರವು ವಿಶ್ವದ ನಾವೀನ್ಯತೆಯ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಕೇಂದ್ರವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಹೂಡಿಕೆದಾರರು ಹಾಗೂ ಉದ್ಯಮಿಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರದ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಪೆರು ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯವಹಾರ ವಿಸ್ತರಣೆಗೆ ಮುಂದಾಗಬೇಕು ಹಾಗೂ ಹೂಡಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದು ಮುಕ್ತ ಆಹ್ವಾನ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಕೃತಕ ಬುದ್ಧಿಮತ್ತೆ (AI), ಡಿಜಿಟಲ್ ರೂಪಾಂತರ, ಫಿನ್ಟೆಕ್ (FinTech), ಸೈಬರ್ ಭದ್ರತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಬಾಹ್ಯಾಕಾಶ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನಗಳಂತಹ ಅತ್ಯಾಧುನಿಕ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಟೆಕ್ ಕಂಪನಿಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಹಯೋಗ ಸಾಧಿಸಲು ಪೆರು ದೇಶವು ಎದುರು ನೋಡುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾಪಿಸಿದರು.
ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಪೆರುವಿನ ಗೌರವ ಕಾನ್ಸುಲ್ ಶ್ರೀ ವಿಕ್ರಮ್ ವಿಶ್ವನಾಥ್ ಅವರ ಆತಿಥ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಈ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿತ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಉನ್ನತ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು, ವಿವಿಧ ದೇಶಗಳ ರಾಜತಾಂತ್ರಿಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯೋದ್ಯಮಿಗಳು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ಪೆರುವಿನಿಂದ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ್ದ ಕಲಾವಿದರು ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತಪಡಿಸಿದ ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಫ್ಯೂಷನ್ ನೃತ್ಯ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನಗಳು ಸಮಾರಂಭಕ್ಕೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಮೆರುಗು ನೀಡಿದವು.
Karnataka Proposes Historic Sister City Partnership with Peru to Boost Bilateral Trade to USD 10 Billion: Deputy Chief Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara
BENGALURU, June 29: In a significant step towards strengthening economic and diplomatic ties with the Republic of Peru, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara has proposed a historic Sister City Agreement between Bengaluru and Lima, the capital of Peru, with the objective of deepening cooperation in trade, education, innovation, healthcare, and culture.
The proposal was made while addressing a high-level diplomatic reception held at Shangri-La Hotel, Bengaluru, to commemorate the 205th Independence Day of the Republic of Peru and celebrate 63 years of diplomatic relations between India and Peru.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Parameshwara drew parallels between Peru’s Latin American liberation movement and India’s freedom struggle led by Mahatma Gandhi, highlighting the shared values of democracy, resilience, and inclusive development that continue to shape relations between the two nations.
Emphasising Karnataka’s global economic leadership, the Deputy Chief Minister said the state contributes more than 40 percent of India’s IT software exports and biotechnology production, making it the country’s undisputed technology and innovation hub. He noted that the overwhelming response to the recently concluded Global Investors Meet further reaffirmed Karnataka’s position as one of the world’s most attractive investment destinations.
“A Sister City partnership between Bengaluru and a leading city in Peru will open new institutional channels for collaboration in trade, education, healthcare, technology, innovation and cultural exchange. This initiative has the potential to serve as a catalyst for expanding bilateral trade between India and Peru to USD 10 billion in the coming years,” Dr. Parameshwara said.
Addressing the gathering, Peruvian Ambassador to India, Mr. Javier Manuel Paulinich Velarde, described Bengaluru as one of the world’s foremost innovation capitals and invited Indian businesses to explore investment opportunities in Peru.
“Bengaluru has established itself as a global centre for innovation and entrepreneurship. We encourage investors and business leaders from Karnataka to expand their presence in Peru and become partners in our country’s growth story,” the Ambassador said.
He further highlighted Peru’s interest in collaborating with Indian technology companies in emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation, fintech, cybersecurity, and space technologies, describing these areas as key pillars of future bilateral cooperation.
The event, hosted by Mr. Vikram Viswanath, Honorary Consul of Peru in Bengaluru, was attended by senior government officials, diplomats from various countries, industry leaders, and members of the business community. The evening also featured vibrant cultural performances by artists from Peru, showcasing the country’s rich artistic heritage and strengthening people-to-people ties between the two nations.
