Flood Rehabilitators Sieges Gokak Tahasil for Not Given Compensation of Last Year’s Flood

Pragativahini News, Belagavi : Hundreds of villagers from Gokak and Mudalagi taluks, with their cattle protesting on the premises of Gokak Tahasildar office at Gokak for not given compensation for property, crop loss for the last year’s floods.

Farming community including women and children have barrage into the office premises and attempted to put the cattle into the office.

People who have lost their houses, crops shouted slogans against the government fir its false promises about giving the compensation, though a year is passing not a single rupee was given. Why the taluka administration was not paying the compensation if government has released the fund.

“The houses of most among us collapsed the the last year’s floods, now another monsoon season has started, our houses neither constructed freshly nor repaired yet because of no funds with us. We are not in a position to get reconstructed, repaired the houses, we are worried how to face this year’s rsinly season in collapsed houses”,  protesting villagers said.
