KSRTC to Remove All Outsourced Staff to Cover COVID-19 Loss

Pragativahini News, Belagavi : It was the shocking and sad news for thousands of people working in lower grade places on “Outsourced Basis” as the state transport department has decided to Remove them from the services. There are more than 10,000 people working in various administrative level as Outsourced Staff since many years.

REASON : The KSRTC which was running under losses before lockdown turned to bad to worst situation in last three months. Though buses remained off the road and their was no expenditure for the department it has to pay the salary to the permanent staff, for which it has decided to remove the outsourced staff.

The department has divided into four division and unfortunately all are running under loss.

NO MONEY FOR SALARY

The department has to pay Rs 326 crore salary every month for its 1.30 crore staff excluding outsourced. The government which has given permission to private operators to run buses on all routes has not paid salary, honorium to its staff since April. The government which is running limited buses on profitable routes has agreed to pay salary of April and half salary of May, next month.

Most of the outsourced staff were working as computer operators whose wage was between Rs 8, 000 to Rs 12,000 per month, however, on account the government use to pay the outsourced contractor on an average Rs 20,000 to each per month.
