
Pragativahini News, Belagavi : The Belagavi Forest official on Monday night took a Maharashtra person for illegally possessing a tortoise. As a few sector believes that could get good wealth if had tortoise at home, the person had cost the tortoise Rs 5 lakh.
Acting on the specific information, a team of officials led by RFO RH Dombaragi managed to meet Amrut Shivaji Benake, 45, from Dekoli village in neighbouring Chandagad taluk in Maharashtra, between a place in Bijagarani and Rakaskopp and told they wanted to buy the tortoises.
After trusted, Benake brought a black colour tortoise, explained the benefit of having it at home and rated it Rs 5 lakh. He has been taken into custody.
