A panther was found in the villages surrounding Hire Angrolli, Chikka Angrolli, Kadatana Bagewadi, Beedi, Bekawad, Mugalihal and surrounding areas in Khanapur taluk on Tuesday night the villagers said.
The panther had drunk water in the fields and then left. The farmers in these villages said that they are worried that the panther was found in the human inhabitation and agriculture fields and they are now afraid to venture alone in these areas. They demanded that the forest officials should immediately catch the panther and should release it in the forest. It is suspected the panther had come to these areas in search of food. it might have come to catch the dogs, monkeys and lambs the villagers said.
Basavanneppa, a resident of Angrolli village said that the panther has not caused any damage to the crops and had come in search of the food. He has requested the people not to be panic. Forest officials visited these villages and found the foot print of the panther. The sources from the forest department informed Pragativahini that the department has kept an eye on the movement of the panther.
