ಪ್ರಗತಿವಾಹಿನಿ ಸುದ್ದಿ: ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಮಾವು ಬೆಳೆಗಾರರ ಹಿತರಕ್ಷಣೆಗಾಗಿ ಈ ವರ್ಷವೂ ಬೆಲೆ ಕೊರತೆ ಪಾವತಿ ಯೋಜನೆ (ಪಿಡಿಪಿಎಸ್) ಮೂಲಕ ನೆರವಾಗುವಂತೆ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಆಹಾರ ಮತ್ತು ನಾಗರಿಕ ಸರಬರಾಜು ಸಚಿವ ಪ್ರಲ್ಹಾದ ಜೋಶಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಕೃಷಿ ಸಚಿವರನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಮಾವು ಬೆಳೆಗಾರರ ಬವಣೆ, ಸಂಕಷ್ಟ ಕುರಿತು ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಕೃಷಿ ಸಚಿವ ಶಿವರಾಜ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಚೌಹಾಣ್ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಗುರುವಾರ (ಜೂ.18) ಪತ್ರ ಬರೆದಿರುವ ಸಚಿವ ಜೋಶಿ ಅವರು, ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಮಾವು ಬೆಳೆಗಾರರ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಶೀಘ್ರವೇ ಸ್ಪಂದಿಸುವಂತೆ ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಪಿಡಿಪಿಎಸ್ ಅಡಿ ನೆರವು ನೀಡಿ: ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಹವಾಮಾನ ವೈಪರೀತ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಲೆ ಕುಸಿತದಿಂದ ಮಾವು ಬೆಳೆಗಾರರು ತೀವ್ರ ಸಂಕಷ್ಟ ಎದುರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಕೂಡಲೇ ‘ಬೆಲೆ ಕೊರತೆ ಪಾವತಿ ಯೋಜನೆ (ಪಿಡಿಪಿಎಸ್)’ ಅಡಿ ನೆರವಾಗುವಂತೆ ಕೃಷಿ ಸಚಿವರನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಮಾವು ಬೆಳೆಯುವ ಉತ್ತಮ ಪರಿಸರ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಅನೇಕ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯ ರೈತರು ಆದಾಯ ಮತ್ತು ಜೀವನೋಪಾಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಈ ಬೆಳೆಯನ್ನು ಅವಲಂಬಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ, ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಲೆ ಕುಸಿತದಿಂದಾಗಿ ವ್ಯತಿರಿಕ್ತ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಎದುರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಸಚಿವರು ಮನವರಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಕೋಲಾರ, ಚಿಕ್ಕಬಳ್ಳಾಪುರ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಮನಗರ, ಧಾರವಾಡ, ಬೆಳಗಾವಿ ಹೀಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯದೆಲ್ಲೆಡೆ ಇರುವ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತೋತಾಪುರಿ ಮಾವಿನ ಬೆಲೆ ಲಾಭದಾಯಕವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಮಾದರಿ ದರಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಗಮನಾರ್ಹವಾಗಿ ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ಮಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಕುಸಿದಿದೆ. ಇದರಿಂದ ಬೆಳೆಗಾರರು ತೀವ್ರ ಸಂಕಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೀಡಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ, ಪ್ರತಿಕೂಲ ಹವಾಮಾನ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಗಳಿಂದಾಗಿ ಈ ಬಾರಿ ಮಾವಿನ ಉತ್ಪಾದನೆ ಸಹ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದೆಲ್ಲದರ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ರೈತರಿಗೆ ತೀವ್ರ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ನಷ್ಟ ಉಂಟಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಸಚಿವ ಪ್ರಲ್ಹಾದ ಜೋಶಿ ಅವರು ಕೃಷಿ ಸಚಿವರ ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ತೋತಾಪುರಿ ಮಾವು ಬೆಳೆಗಾರರ ಹಿತಾಸಕ್ತಿ ಕಾಪಾಡುವ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ಕಳೆದ ವರ್ಷದಂತೆ ಪ್ರಸಕ್ತ ವರ್ಷವೂ ಬೆಲೆ ಕೊರತೆ ಪಾವತಿ ಯೋಜನೆ (ಪಿಡಿಪಿಎಸ್) ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೆರವು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಿ ಬೆಂಬಲಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಲ್ಲುವ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆಯಿದೆ. ಶೀಘ್ರವೇ ಸಕಾರಾತ್ಮಕ ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಜೋಶಿ ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
Joshi seeks Centre’s support mango growers as Totapuri prices crash
New Delhi: Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Pralhad Joshi has written to Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan seeking immediate intervention to protect the interests of mango growers affected by a steep fall in Totapuri mango prices.
In his letter, Joshi highlighted the severe distress being faced by farmers in major mango-growing districts such as Kolar, Chikkaballapur and Ramanagara, where market prices of Totapuri mangoes have witnessed a sharp decline during the current season.
The minister pointed out that mango growers are reeling under significant financial hardship due to unfavourable weather conditions and poor market prices, which have resulted in heavy losses. Many farmers, he noted, are struggling to recover even their cultivation costs, pushing them into an economic crisis.
Expressing concern over the plight of the growers, Joshi wanted the Centre to extend support under the Price Deficiency Payment Scheme (PDPS), which compensates farmers when market prices fall below a specified level. He stressed that such assistance would provide much-needed relief to Totapuri mango cultivators and help safeguard their livelihoods.
He requested the Union Agriculture Ministry to examine the issue on priority and take appropriate measures to ensure that affected farmers receive adequate compensation and support. He appealed to the Centre to formulate a suitable relief package and provide timely assistance to mitigate the losses suffered by mango growers.
