*Six-Day ATAL FDP on Advanced Manufacturing Systems & Industry 4.0 Technologies Concludes at KLS GIT*
Pragativahini News, Belagavi : The six-day AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Advanced Manufacturing Systems & Industry 4.0 Technologies” successfully concluded on September 12 at KLS Gogte Institute of Technology (KLS GIT), Belagavi. The event was organized by the Department of Master of Computer Applications (MCA) under the aegis of the ATAL Academy.
Held from September 7 to September 12, 2026, the FDP brought together 35 faculty members and research scholars from various engineering and polytechnic institutions across Karnataka and Maharashtra. Participants represented a wide array of disciplines, including Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Production, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Computer Applications, AI & Data Science, and Electronics & Communication Engineering.
Throughout the intensive six-day schedule, the programme seamlessly blended theoretical insights with practical, hands-on learning. Core themes covered included Industry 4.0 architecture, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), AI & Data Analytics in Manufacturing, Cyber-Physical Systems, Digital Twins, Smart Automation, Robotics, and Additive Manufacturing.
Industry experts and academic leaders from top organizations—including Mahindra Group, Nagarro, Capgemini, and Vivanuj—led interactive sessions, case studies, and laboratory workshops. As part of the experiential learning, participants also undertook an industrial visit to Aequs Limited at the Aequs Special Economic Zone in Hattargi.
Valedictory Function
The programme culminated in a formal valedictory ceremony on the KLS GIT campus. Dr. Swetha Indudhar Goudar, Professor in the MCA Department and Programme Convenor, delivered the welcome address and presented a comprehensive report on the key outcomes and activities of the six days.
Dr. Jayashree Madalgi, Head of the MCA Department, highlighted the crucial role of such faculty development initiatives in bridging the gap between traditional academic curricula and fast-evolving industrial demands. In his presidential address, Prof. D. A. Kulkarni, Dean – Administration, commended the MCA Department for hosting a seamless event and reiterated the institution’s dedication to advancing Industry 4.0 education and research.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Sachin Desai, Co-Programme Convenor, who expressed gratitude to the KLS Management, the Principal, resource persons, and all participants. Supported by the AICTE ATAL initiative, the event further strengthened KLS GIT’s mission to foster innovation, skill development, and applied research in modern manufacturing technologies.
