TUMKUR BANK DONATES BLANKETS WORTH RS 9 LAKH

After the floods in Belagavi district have receded after the flow of rivers has come down to a great extent, flow of relief and help to the district has increased.

In one of the major reliefs that arrived Belagavi on August 15 was from Tumkur Grain Merchants Bank.

Sent by the president of the bank N R Jagdish, director of the bank and industrialist N J Shivakumar of Siddaganga Oil Extractions handed over 4000 woolen blankets, worth Rs 9 lakh to Deputy Commissioner of Belagavi Dr S B Bommanhalli.

“ Apart from blankets, we also understand the other needs of the flood affected brethren, hence we have also packed chapattis, rusks and chutneys, so that  they would be distributed to the needy.

Tumkur Grain Merchants Bank is one of the leading cooperative banks in Karnataka with 30 branches all over the state. The bank has always been at the forefront in supporting the social cause,” N J Shivakumar said.

Soon after receiving the truck, Deputy Commissioner immediately sent the consignment to Gokak to be distributed in the relief camps and flood victims there.

Along with government officials,  Kunal Shivakumar, Sagar Shivakumar and others were present.
