Prajwal Revanna newly elected JDS MP from Hasan who is the grandson of former Prime Minister H D Devegowda offered to resign from his seat on Friday.
Addressing the media Prajwal lamented that Devegowda lost the election in Tumkur constituency because of him. ‘Had I not asked for Hasan LS seat which was held by Devegowda he would not have shifted to Tumkur. I am repenting my decision to contest from Devegowda’s seat Hasan’ Prajwal said.
I offer to resign and let my Grandfather contest from this seat. He has spent his lifetime for building the party. His presence is essential in parliament, Prajwal said
Prajwal’s mother Bhavani had met Devegowda on Thursday and conveyed the message, it is said.
Meanwhile BJP has criticized Devegowda’s family for enacting family Political drama. They think that this state is their family fiefdom and imposing their decision of re-election on the taxpayers of this state. This shows their political arrogance BJP said.
