 CM calls on PM: appeals to aid flood hit Karnataka

Pragativahini News, New Delhi-
Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa today called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and appealed to release funds immediately to take up relief works in flood hit Karnataka.
Responding to his appeal, Prime Minister assured to send central study team soon to assess the damage due to flood.
During the 45 minute meeting Chief Minister appraised Prime Minister about the grave situation of the flood hit areas in the state and explained that the losses suffered due to flood is unseen before and intense and more funds are required to take up relief measures and rebuild the lives of the victims.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Home Minister Amit Shah have already come and gone. Parliamentary affairs minister Prahalla Joshi and railway minister Suresh Angadi have been hit by a massive flood. Yeddyurappa, now on his way to Delhi for the second time, explained the situation.With the BJP government at the center and the state, there was hope that more relief would come. But even today the center has not announced a penny. All the ministers came and went. Now the Prime Minister is sending a delegation again.

Union Ministers Suresh Angadi and Prahlada Joshi, MLAs Jagadish Shettar, R. Ashok and Govinda  Karajola, Chief Secretary to Government T.M. Vijayabhaskar,, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister P. Ravikumar were present.

Clarification

Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa has clarified that he had announced that the donors contributing more than RS 10 crore will have the layouts named after them, not the villages.
Earlier, Yeddyurappa had disputed the name of the donor for the village.
