9 Popular Kannada science books released

 

Pragativahini News, Belagavi –

Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi organized popular Tantrik Shikshana books in kannada releasing function published by VTU under its programme “Janapriya Tamtrika Shikshana Male” on 22nd August 2019 at “Jnana Sangama”, Belagavi at 11 am.

The basic philosophy of publishing these books is to solve problems of rural India with the use of modern science and technology in a sustainable manner.

Nadoj Dr. Manu Baligar, President of Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Bengaluru was the Chief Guest and Dr. Karisiddappa, Vice Chancellor of VTU presided over the function. Besides, Karnataka  Rajyotsava Awardee of Belagavi District for the year 2017-18 Shri C. K. Jorapur was felicitated on this occasion.

On this occasion the nine kannada popular science books such as “Aarogya mattu Tantrajnana” written by Dr. Sri Sampattakumar, “Endhan koshagalu bhavishyada shaktimula” written by Dr. K.N. Patil, “Mdrana tantrajnana” written by Dr. Rashmi Angadi, “Vidyuta apagatagalu” written by Pro. S. Chindanandappa, “ khagola vijnana” written by Pro. A. B. Krishnamurty Achar, “IT BT Kshetra” & Saptaware udyamada savalugalu” written by Prof. Rajesh Hongal, “SMPS” written by Prof. Sukesh Muligar and “Ganaka Jnana” written by Prof. Namrata M. Kalasannavar were released and also all writers were felicitated.

After the release of books Dr. Manu Baligar said that “the technical education institutions have the responsibility of developing the the software for Kannada language which fulfills all demands of Kannadigas and young engineers have to spend more time in developing user-friendly kannada software and Kannada, Sahitya Parishat will have all the support for this task”.

The way back during the second century Kannada language has its roots into history beyond the boundaries of the Indian subcontinent, he added. He advised the students make hard efforts to achieve success in their life.

In his presidential address Dr. Karisiddappa said that “majority of developing nations are agrarian economies characterized by low productivity with poor infrastructure and heavy natural calamities. The applications of science and technology have to be adopted to increase efficiency in production, productivity of rural sector.

With this view VTU is publishing popular books in Kannada which focuses on the different aspects of the application of science and technology in rural areas including to face the challenges of natural calamities”. VTU is motivating students to excel and achieve greater milestones by appreciating their performance by extending Pratibha Puraskar, added.

On this occasion University also arranged “Prathibha Puraskar” to encourage the sons and daughters of all VTU employees to excel in academics by presenting them cash awards and certificates. Twenty Seven meritorious students who have secured 80 percent and above in SSLC and PUC during the year 2018-19 were presented “Prathibha Puraskar” of Rs. 5000/- and certificate.

Dr. A. S. Deshpande, Registrar of VTU,  M. A. Sapna, Finance Officer of VTU were graced the occasion. Dr. C. K. Subbaraya, President of VTU Kannada Books Publishing Committee briefed activities of Publishing Committee.

Dr. M. N. Birje, Director of VTU Prasaranga welcomed. Dr. Shanta Porapur, Co-ordinator of VTU Prasaranga proposed vote of thanks. Dr. Pralhad Rathod, Liaison Officer, VTU SC/ST/OBC Welfare Cell co-ordinated the Pratibha Puraskar function. The officers and staff of VTU, students and their parents were participated in the function.
