*ಸುಳ್ಳು ಬರೆಯುವ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರಿಗಿಂತ ಸತ್ಯ ಬರೆಯುವ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ ನಡೆಸಿ ಬರೆಯುವ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಬೇಕು: ಸಿಎಂ ಕಿವಿಮಾತು*
ಪ್ರಗತಿವಾಹಿನಿ ಸುದ್ದಿ: ನಾವು ಯಾರ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಇದ್ದೇವೆ ಎನ್ನುವ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟ ಅರಿವು ಮಾಧ್ಯಮದವರಿಗೆ ಇರಬೇಕು. ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಕಟ್ಟ ಕಡೆಯ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಇದೆಯಾ ಎನ್ನುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಗಮನ ಹರಿಸಿ, ವೃತ್ತಿಧರ್ಮವನ್ನು ಬಹಳ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಕಾಪಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಸಿದ್ದರಾಮಯ್ಯ ಅವರು ನುಡಿದರು.
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಅಕಾಡೆಮಿ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ವೆಟ್ ಹಾಲ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾದ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರಿಗೆ “2025ನೇ ಸಾಲಿನ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು” ವಿತರಿಸಿ, ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದ ಮಹಾತ್ಮಗಾಂಧಿಯವರ ಮಾತಿನಂತೆ ಸರ್ವೋದಯ, ಅಂತ್ಯೋದಯದ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರು ಇರಬೇಕು. ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಬಂದು 75 ವರ್ಷಗಳಾದರೂ ಇನ್ನೂ ಅಸಮಾನತೆ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಅಂಬೇಡ್ಕರ್ ಅವರೂ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರಾಗಿದ್ದರು.ಈ ಅಸಮಾನತೆ ಹೋಗದೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಅರ್ಥವಿಲ್ಲ ಎನ್ನುವ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಅಂಬೇಡ್ಕರ್ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳು ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಿಸಿದರು.
ನಾನು ನಿತ್ಯ ದಿನಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಓದಿದ ಬಳಿಕವೇ ಇತರೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಮುಂದಾಗುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳು ಇನ್ನೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಾರ್ಹತೆಯನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿವೆ. ನಾನು ಟಿವಿ ನೋಡುವುದು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಎಂದರು.
ಈಗ ಊಹಾ ಪತ್ರಿಕೋದ್ಯಮದ ಹಾವಳಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಸತ್ಯ ಬರೆಯುವ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ ನಡೆಸಿ ಬರೆಯುವ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಸುಳ್ಳು ಬರೆಯುವ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಗಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಕರೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಒಂದು ಗುಂಪು ಅಥವಾ ಒಂದು ಸಿದ್ಧಾಂತಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾರು ಹೋಗದೆ ವಾಸ್ತವಾಂಶಕ್ಕೆ ಕನ್ನಡಿ ಹಿಡಿಯಬೇಕು ಎಂದರು.
ಹೊಸ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನದ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ರಂಗ ಮತ್ತು ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರೂ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಾವು ಉನ್ನತೀಕರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. ಹೊಸ ಸವಾಲುಗಳಿಗೆ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಾವು ಸಜ್ಜುಗೊಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹದಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಎಂದರು.

CM Urges Journalists to Focus on Whether the Government Serves the Last Person

Bengaluru, March 13: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that members of the media must have a clear understanding of whom they stand for. He urged journalists to examine whether the government is working for the welfare of the last person in society and to uphold professional ethics with utmost responsibility.
He was speaking after presenting the “Annual Journalism Awards for the Year 2025” to selected journalists at a function organized at the Karnataka Media Academy Banquet Hall in Bengaluru.
Quoting Mahatma Gandhi, who was also a journalist, the Chief Minister said that journalists should stand for the principles of Sarvodaya and Antyodaya—the welfare of all and the upliftment of the last person. He noted that even after 75 years of independence, inequalities still persist in society. Referring to B. R. Ambedkar, who was also a journalist, Siddaramaiah said Ambedkar had warned that independence would have little meaning if social inequalities continue.
The Chief Minister said he begins his day by reading newspapers before attending to other work. He added that newspapers still maintain a high level of credibility and remarked that he watches television only occasionally.
Expressing concern, he said that speculative journalism is on the rise and stressed that the number of journalists who write the truth and conduct proper research should be greater than those who spread misinformation.
He also advised journalists not to be influenced by any particular group or ideology but to act as a mirror reflecting facts and reality.
Siddaramaiah further emphasized that with the rapid advancement of technology, the media and journalists must continuously upgrade themselves and prepare to face new challenges.
The event was chaired by MLA Rizwan Arshad. Among those present were senior litterateur Hampana, the Chief Minister’s Media Advisor K. V. Prabhakar, President of the Karnataka Media Academy Ayesha Khanum, Commissioner of the Department of Information and Public Relations (Karnataka) Hemant Nimbalkar, and President of the Karnataka Nataka Academy Nagarajamurthy, among others.
