Sanjeev Basavaraj Bhagiji (28) who was held guilty of having unnatutral sex with his wife and and also forcing her to have sex with a dog has been sentenced to 10 years regourous imprisonment by V. B. Suryavamshi, 8th Additional Session and District Judge, Belagavi. The court has imposed the fine of Rs. 5000 on Sanjeev.
The incident was reported on March 22, 2017 in Hulakund village under the limits of Katakol police station. The Sanjeev had married the complainant in 2010 and began harassing her since 2015. He used to threaten her to obey his orders and repeatedly torturing her to leave the house.
As per the complainant the Sanjeev used to show the videos of the unnatural sex to the victim and forcing her to cooperate with him to do the same. Despite his harassment the wife wanted to continue to live with him and was cooperating, the charge sheet said.
But the harassment did not stop there. The Sanjeev brought a puppy and forced the victim to have sex with it. The wife tried to convince him but in vain. When he threw her and her children from the home she lodged a complaint against him.
Katakol police had filed a charge sheet after the investigation. After the trial the court has held the Sanjeev guilty. Kiran S Patil had argued for the prosecution.
