The auto-rickshaw drivers who are on strike for last few days because the police taking strict action against them. They are spreading rumor against the police and the public should not believe it, the police have requested.
In a press release the police have stated that the auto-rickshaw drivers have decided not to carry more than 3 children in their vehicle. But they are spreading canard that the police have instructed them to recover more money from the parents of the children, but police have not issued any such instruction to the auto- rickshaw drivers the press release said.
As per the order of the Supreme Court the police are taking stern action to prevent accidents. The decision to stop the overloading of the children in the vehicle was taken after consulting many other departments. Police had permitted the auto-driver to carry maximum 6 children in an auto-rickshaw instead on 12. But some auto drivers are spreading the rumour that the police have instructed them to recover double the money while transporting 6 children. It is far from the truth the police said.
Police have requested the people to cooperate with them in the case of security of the children.
