Gokak police on Monday booked a doctor and three others for allegedly involving the case of abortion of a rape victim who is minor in age. The person who allegedly raped the girl, mother of the girl and another person who allegedly helped the other accused are also booked by the police.
According to the police a 14 old girl was raped in a village in Gokak taluk. When she became pregnant her mother and uncle of the rape accused had allegedly taken her to the private hospital in Gokak where the pregnancy was terminated.
Police have registered a case against Dr. Kadalagikar, rape accused Adiveppa Poojari, his uncle Doddappa Rangappa Poojari and victim’s mother. The girl was brought to the district hospital in Belagavi and later she was shifted to the Children Helpline Unit.
