Pragativahini News, Belagavi : As most of the private nursing homes, clinics not yet open for services, the government on Tuesday has warned private medical practitioners about initiating action under Karnataka Private Medical Establishment Act (KPMEA) if not reopened the closed nursing homes and clinics immediately.
DC SB Bommanhalli said many nursing homes, clinics closed after C-19 broke up were not yet opened. It was the prime duty of all the registered medical practitioners to provide services to the patients, action under the KPME Act would be initiated if not restarted the work.
DOCS SEEKS PROTECTION
After a person in intoxicated state attacked on medical staff at Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Eksamba on Monday evening, the doctors, nurses and other hospital staff at Chikkodi division has urged the government to give them protection while in service at hospital.
In a memorandum submitted to Assistant Commissioner of Chikkodi, the Indian Medical Association of Chikkodi said one Sanjeevkumar Banavani who been to the PHC for injuries to one of his hands and was treated. He was in drunken state, though created nuisance in the hospital he was treated. However, he assaulted nurse Deepa Kattimani, behaved wrongly with duty doctor Mallikarjun Pogatanatti and destroyed equipment and medicine at the hospital.
Medical staff amid risk of Corona Virus attending to all the patients have to undergo threat of such people for which they must be provided security, appealed the association to the government.
