Huge cash recovered from the houses of BJP leaders in Uttara Kannada

Joint search of the Flying Squad Team (FST) and the Income tax department on Tuesday at Sirsi and Siddapur in Uttara Kannada district has yielded the recovery of the Rs. 82, 70,000-00 according the sources of the Election commission.
The IT department had carried out raids on the close aides of Anant kumar Hegde, union minister and BJP candidate from Uttara Kannada constituency. In a report to the Election Commission of India Sourabh Nayak, Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax who is the district Nodal officer for the Lok Sabha elections in Uttara Kannada district, the FST and IT carried out joint action on the vacuole KA 31 N 3546 in which Krishna Rama Devadiga alias Krishna Estae district secretary of BJP and found Rs. 9, 20,000-00 in envelopes containing Rs. 5000-00 each meant for the distribution at booth level.
The FST and IT teams had carried out another raid on the residence of Ramanath V Hegde, secretary of Sirsi taluk and found 71, 00,000-00 which was meant for distribution to voters. Both the persons and district president of BJP K G Naik whose house was also searched. However direct link with the candidate (Anant kumar Hegde) of the same party (BJP) could not be established, the report said.
On Friday the IT had conducted raids on the premises of close aid of JDS candidate Anand Asnotikar in Sirsi on April 12. Then JDS had cried foul by stating that EC is targeting opposition to help the BJP candidate. Now with BJP leaders in IT and ECI net and huge cash has been recovered from them.
