Income tax officials conducted a raid on the house of Shakeel Sheikh a close aid of JDS candidate Anand Asnotikar on Friday. Asnotikar is contesting from the Uttara Kannada constituency on JDS ticket.
Shakeel is a trader of second-hand vehicles in Sirsi town.
According to the sources close to Asnotikar total 5 officials of IT department arrived at the house and the office of Shakeel seized many documents. The raid was carried out on the suspicion that Asnotikar and JDS has accumulated the money in the house of Shakeel. Local police assisted the IT officials during the raid. The officials have taken away some important documents it is said.
