*NSS Foundation Day Celebrated at KLS GIT with Competitions and Cultural Programmes*
Pragativahini News: Belagavi: The National Service Scheme (NSS) Foundation Day was celebrated with enthusiasm at KLS Gogte Institute of Technology (KLS GIT), Belagavi, on September 24.
The programme was jointly organised by the NSS, Youth Red Cross (YRC), and Bharat Scouts and Guides (BSG) units of the institute, with the objective of fostering social responsibility, a spirit of service, leadership qualities and holistic personality development among students.
Students Enthusiastically Participate in Various Competitions
As part of the NSS Foundation Day celebrations, various competitions were organised for students on September 23. The events included a rangoli competition, debate competition, Mini Hyrox and short-film making competition.
Students from various departments participated enthusiastically and showcased their creativity, physical fitness, communication skills and ability to express their ideas effectively.
IAS Probationary Officer and Assistant Commissioner Attend Event
The main NSS Foundation Day programme held on September 24 was attended by IAS Probationary Officer Rohit Singh and Assistant Commissioner and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Saravan Nayak as the chief guests.
KLS GIT Principal Dr. Vijay Athavale and NSS Programme Officer Prof. V.V. Rajput presided over the programme.
The event commenced with the formal inauguration, followed by a series of cultural programmes presented by the students. Their performances added colour and vibrancy to the celebrations and provided an opportunity for students to showcase their talents.
Emphasis on Social Responsibility
The NSS Foundation Day celebrations provided students with an opportunity to understand their responsibilities towards society alongside their academic pursuits. The programme highlighted the role of NSS in promoting social awareness, community service, leadership skills and teamwork among students.
Students and faculty members actively participated in the celebrations. The event once again reflected KLS GIT’s commitment to providing students with opportunities for holistic development by giving equal importance to social and cultural activities along with academic learning.
